Too funny! I just ran across a youtube video of a band from Tennessee doing the same opener in 2010 that Thousand Oaks did in 2009 and apparently they were Tennessee State Champions.
Thousand Oaks 09

Siegel 10

Comparisons anyone? I sort of think Siegel is a little cleaner. Particularly noticeable in the trumpet double tounging (2:50 for Thousand Oaks and 2:15 for Siegel). So weird though. It sounds like the exact same arrangement. Did Thousand Oaks sell it to them or did they just lift it or something? Shoot, STATE CHAMPIONS!

Many composers/arrangers sell their shows to many schools. While some try to give regional protection to bands competing in the same area, having a different group play a show the following year happens all the time. Must have been a great show!

Yes, this happens ALL the time. In fact, Poway's 2010 show was done by Tarpon Springs (FL) in 2009, IIRC. And any of Key Poulan's older shows have been done dozens and dozens of times over by bands across the country.
