No harm. I'm sure it's tough, but they'll live. Congrats to South Hills, Hart and Warren tonight.resetdoitagain wrote:Oh, I'm sorry.cough wrote:I was talking to R1. Calm down.![]()

Methinks most bands don't make championships. The 12 that made 2A champs were all good bands, it was a great show.cough wrote: Some bands don't even make championships..

I don't know but I feel like the results from 4a were really off!
I was one of the first ones to perform and when we returned to the stands and I saw Carlsbad I was like "OMGOSH they are sooo good!" Everyone I spoke to after seeing Carlsbad AND Hart, predicted Carlsbad was going to take Gold. I've seen South Hills a lot and they are good but i feel like Carlsbad was just soo amazing and deserved the gold. As for Warren, i feel like they worked hard but i dont know if it was a bronze quality show. Those are just my opinions coming from a drum major in the 4a division.

Warren's show was great. although not "exciting". it was well-balanced and well-controlled. props to them from not even making championships last year to placing 3rd this year next to hart & south hills!Sergiobtune69 wrote:I don't know but I feel like the results from 4a were really off!

I agree that Carlsbad had a very good show, and from what I saw I thought they would get third. South hills and hart were a lot cleaner marching wise though. Congrats to my old high school band, south hills. We've been waiting for years to see you guys break through to the top. All of us alumni are very proud of you!!!

iono, I thought carlsbad was okay. but that's just my opinion.
but being an alumni from south hills, seeing a few championships and being in one, they walked out on the field this year wanting and performing and aiming for gold. (not that they don't every year)
this years group worked extra hard and finally brought home the gold!
congratulations south hills!!!!!!(:

Well different people see different things. If you look at the recaps specifically in the music totals you might notice that there was a significant gap between the scores Carlsbad received from each judge. Now this is not to say that one was correct or the other was wrong but merely to point out that people see and hear different things.Sergiobtune69 wrote:I don't know but I feel like the results from 4a were really off!

Re: 4a gold medal
First I'd like to congratulate all the wonderful groups on their championships performances this weekend. It was wonderful that the weather was calm and not too cold Saturday night. It was great being in the 4A class this year with some wonderful groups. I'm glad there are people who appreciated our show and I thank you for your comments. The kids have worked hard this year, and I am very pleased with them. I wish I could have watched all the groups on Saturday so I could see the great work everyone is doing.
It was great to see South Hills win a gold medal. They have been great for so long, and to finally get that distinction must feel great.
I sincerely hope the students at Hart are not disappointed. With the expectation of gold every year, I hope they still feel a great sense of accomplishment and growth after a great season and winning a silver medal in a terrific class of bands.
I'd like to publically thank everyone involved with Championships for running a terrific event and allowing our students to perform for a great crowd at a great venue!
