Cool gadgets for band geeks!

Post by tdurie » Sat Sep 01, 2012 11:35 pm

Hello everyone!
Thought as the band season is starting up again it'd be a great time to tell you all about a bunch of great teaching and learning tools for brass and woodwind players. The site features a collection of awesome fonts for notating any fingering imaginable for any instrument & rubber stamps for writing fingerings on the fly. Would love to know what you all think of my designs!

I always find it suspicious when someone joins the board and posts one comment that same day. Self-promoting a bit??

I honestly wasn't impressed, especially with the stamps. There are other stamps out there that do the same think that are also self-inking and therefore much more feasible for what goes on in a band classroom.

Fonts were ok, but no way would I ever pay that much for them. Maybe $9.99 for all the instruments, but never that much for a single instrument.

Just recieved my clarinet font from this site. The font looks great after i printed it even really big. I even put in fingerings that I made up myself. Didn't think it would do that. COOL STUFF!

One of the ways some of the Bigger Bands are getting to better competitions is that several directors agree to attend a competition half way between each school. That way neither has as great a travel expense. One problem is that we starting to see Big Bands show up at Minor competitions thus running off some of the smaller Schools who were going to the competition to get experience. I do not recommend this, however it does save on travel costs
