Loara Alumni Band and Valkyrie Drill/Flag Call

Post by fieldshowqueen » Thu Oct 04, 2012 5:33 pm

Loara High School, Anaheim, California is celebrating 50 years as a school this year. Several events have been planned one of which is the year end concert on May 18th at the Loara Gymnasium. The Loara Alumni Association is looking for alumni band members who wish to be a part of this concert. As of today, October 4, there are 112 band members (most of who are woodwind and drummers) and 38 Valkyries. If you wish to be a part of these events, please contact the Loara Band Director, Scott Domingues, or visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/Loara50th/ for more information, and please let your band geek friends know. :)
* Apologies if this should be posted elsewhere in this Forum. *

Postscript: to be a part of the Alumni Band and Valkyrie group, you must have been a member of the Loara band. Thanks.

Hmmm...will Gwen Stefani be there to play flute?

If you are short on low brass just get Bruce Wagner and John Van Houten, that's all the alumni you really need.

no idea on Gwen. ... and yes we need brass. Also from what I've been told, Ric Marino will be there (and his instrument was trombone). :D

John Van Houten is in and yes Mr. Marino's instrument was the trombone! I'll try to get some more brass players to join.

Follow up ...
Loara's 50th Anniversary celebration and concert was this past weekend. Rick Marino (Loara's first director) was there leading. History in the making and if you missed it, you missed out.
