I am so glad that South Hills won as it was my alma mater and I personally know how hard we worked (and still work!) to put on the best performance possible; congrats to all the kids at South Hills on finally getting the recognition of SCSBOA 4A champions after years of silver and bronze. They really stepped up their game and played a powerful and clean show at champs!

I must say that although I love South Hills, I was still very shocked and surprised to see them win! Maybe because Hart has been unbeatable for so long, and in earlier season match-ups SH just didn't compare score-wise with Hart, or because we've never beaten Hart before... and with score discrepancies such as SH at WBA Mission Viejo where they placed 4th after other great programs like Trabuco Hills and Valencia etc., and WBA shows where Hart beat big players such as Chino Hills and Clovis West, it comes as a surprise. In this regard, I am NOT surprised that the kids at Hart felt disappointed or shocked that they didn't win; I don't necessarily think they expected to win regardless of their performance, but rather they expected to win because they gave a great performance and with their history of winning and the entire season leading up to Champs, winning was probable (they are statistically favored to win).

Anyway, congrats to all the bands that competed; each year I am more and more amazed at seeing the progression of these 4A programs as they grow and get better and better, year after year. Great job, guys!
