So... Who is going? The school I teach at will be heading up to Napa for our first competitive performance. I know it's one those weekends that close the NCBA Fall season, so I'm pretty excited to see all of the schools who will be going.

Yep, at the southern end of the state between Ashland and Medford. Considering Eagle Point H.S. from the same region went to Vintage few years ago, that's who I'm thinking it is.

It's unfortunate that we will not be seeing your group at the CCBR this year! Good luck at Vintage!

It's crazy how many 3A bands there are... My kids are up against 8 other schools, one being Bella Vista and Del Oro. I can't wait to see how this review plays out. This is our biggest field show line up since back in 2003 (when my sister was a freshman)... Plus we're first in our division... I hope that break in between the 3A class gets changed...

This is the first time for as long as I can remember Benicia is doing a Band Review on this weekend. Can't wait to make the trip to CCBR, the only event of Fall I haven't been to (while in and out of band).

9 bands in 3A? Holy cow! Seems a bit... unbalanced? Since 2A only has 3 bands, 4A has 2 bands, and 5A 3 bands.
Things that make you go hummmmm....

Things that make you go hummmmm.... Even back when I marched at the Vintage comp in the early-90s, they've always used rigid, set number of performers/musicians to determine the classes. I'm sure that's the case here. (Meaning they set the numbers for the classes before they start taking applications, and however it falls out is how it goes.)

I heard Monte Vista was added to 3A, and there was also a recent shift in the parade award times and concert percussion times. Anyone want to elaborate on that?
