SCJA Regional #2 Division 2A predictions

Post by Jim Bunselmeier » Wed Nov 02, 2011 12:02 pm

Here are one person's predictions for Div 2, Regional #2 @ San Gorgonio HS. I am using scores from this year's SCJA shows, last years SCJA Championship score and a little intuition (guessing).

1) North Torrance 82.3
2) Edison 79.5
3) Yucca Valley 78.4
4) Orange Lutheran 77.4
5) Norte Vista 68.7
6) Granite Hills 66.3
7) San Gorgonio 65.1
8) Corona 64.5
??? La Sierra - no knowledge of this band

If the above happens, then the following ten bands would qualify for the SCJA State Championship on Nov. 19th

North Torrance 82.3 - R#2
Don Lugo 79.8 - R #1
Edison 79.5 - R #2
Yucca Valley 78.4 - R#2
Orange Lutheran 77.4 - R#2
Mater Dei 73.7 - R#1
Norte Vista 68.7 - R#2
Granite Hills 66.3 - R#2
San Gorgonio 65.1 - R#2
Los Amigos 64.9 - R#1

Anyone else want to make some predictions?

I missed two bands when I first did this. Here is the new list.

1) North Torrance 82.3
2) Edison 79.5
3) Yucca Valley 78.4
4) Orange Lutheran 77.4
5) Moreno Valley 70.1
6) Norte Vista 68.7
7) Granite Hills 66.3
8) San Gorgonio 65.1
9) Corona 64.5
10) Hesperia 58.9

This would put Moreno Valley into Championship and Los Amigos would miss the cut.

It looks like La Sierra's first competition is Regional #2 and the they are attending a show on Nov 12th. They could be a dark horse.

Not being as familiar with Div 3 my predictions do not have quite as much info behind them. Having said that here goes...

Regional #2 results
Chaffey 80.2
Oak Hills 77.3
Apple Valley 76.7
Newport 74.7
Eisenhower 73.1
Bolsa Grande 72.8
Katella 61.4

I do not have enough info to even guess on the other bands.
Good luck to all.

From Regional #1 to Regional #2 Edison made a big jump. Many would consider Edison the favorite right now.

After much thought and analysis of the 10 bands recent scores...

Prediction for Div 2 - SCJA Championship

1. Edison / Don Lugo
2. Don Lugo / Edison - to close not enough data to be conclusive
3. North Torrance
4. Orange Lutheran
5. Mater Dei
6. Norte Vista
7. Yucca Valley
8. Corona
9. San Gorgonio
10. Desert Hot Springs

Best of Skill to all the performing students.

Looks good Jim, I might ask you to re-examine that 3-4-5 situation.

On any given day....

The band with the most students performing at their personal best level could move up a place or two.

Just like in sports, here is the "line" now let's go out and play the "game".
