NCBA Rankings, Week 7 (11/14/11)

Post by Hostrauser » Mon Nov 14, 2011 8:45 pm

This is my attempt to compare and adjust scores from competition to competition to create an overall ranking of the competitive environment. The sports polls for colleges do a Top 25, so that's what I will do, too. The rankings are based solely upon statistical analysis of the judges' scores and not personal opinion.

Armijo didn't move anywhere. Merced moved down based on the results of the CCBR.

i'm wondering why armijo moved up when it did not show up for the CCBR. at least no changes should be made for the first 5 i think.

Okay, I'll explain further...

Relative to Golden Valley's score (which was not released publicly, but was provided to me for the rankings, and I thank the person who did so), BOTH Benicia and Merced slid back a bit after the CCBR. In Benicia's case, it wasn't enough to drop them a spot. In Merced's case, they fell ever-so-slightly behind Armijo. Armijo was closer to Golden Valley at Lodi than Merced was to Golden Valley at the CCBR, so Armijo is (barely) ahead in the rankings, despite losing head-to-head against Merced in October.

While the entire season's performances are taken into account, my rankings are very much a "what have you done for me lately?" exercise, with the most recent performance/scoring having the most weight.
