A discussion for the off-season lull as we wind down...
John Burn was the drum major for Homestead's band back in 83-84, graduated, got his music degree, then came back to Homestead as their new band director in either 1990 or 1991. He's been there ever since.
Are there any other instances, at the High School level, of an alumnus returning to their alma mater as band director? Who and Where?

Gary Wampler graduated from Marina HS, but attended Fountain Valley HS his first year or two. As a director, he started at Marina and now teaches at FVHS.
Gerald Kirk graduated from Hilltop HS and taught there (taking them to the Rose Parade) before moving on to Helix HS.

Josh Butterfield graduated from Foothill-Pleasanton and took over as band director there after Bob Moorefield retired.
