Well, unfortunately the names of the BOA particpating bands (BOA Honor Band, Lassiter, Pomona, Churchill, Seminole, Lawrence Central) were made public a couple of weeks ago on the BOA website. Didn't know that El Dorado was also invited. Great Job El Dorado! Do you think it was the black wigs? The TOR Bandfest should be quite a show next year.

:wav: Thanks to Alyssa for assisting us however we point out that the most recent list we posted is for 2005... University Football Teams who will play in the Rose Bowl next year at this time have not been chosen yet..... so we'll have to wait to see who theyare for quite a while... :wav:

Oh, you got the name of the group from Japan. I was told their name, but never remember it. But for a little more info, they are from Fukuoka City on the island of Kyushu, which is the southern most island of the 4 Japan islands.

Their band director was in California for this year's Rose Parade and followed RCC around during that time.

Just so you know... the Tournament of Roses' policy in the past has always been to never announce the next years' bands until after the present year's parade is over. BOA jumped the gun with their announcement and ruffled a few feathers.

Harvey has many friends on the TOR Band Committee and will tell all the latest info as soon as he can.

Hey thanks man. We were all quite excited when we found out. First band in 15 years to go from Orange County! Yep yep.

According to the list I have from the Tournament of Roses Music Committee going back to 1950, the last Orange County band was Westview High School from Irvine in 1989. However, I've never heard of that school and it doesn't seem to exist today. There are a few mistakes on the list, so I imagine either the school or the city is wrong.

The other Orange County appearances listed are:
1985 El Toro - Lake Forest
1984 Mater Dei - Santa Ana
1981 Edison - Huntington Beach
1977 Estancia - Costa Mesa
1977 Pacifica - Garden Grove
1974 Katella - Anaheim
1972 Newport Harbor - Newport Beach
1970 Santa Ana

Congratulations to El Dorado HS. You guys shouldn't have had to wait this long.... Your parade and field performances this year made it impossible for them to overlook you, imho! You wowed the audiences and judges, too. Bravo.

Thanks, I’m happy to have been blessed with this opportunity and I’m glad to know that others are happy for us too. We really appreciate it. :D

I've never heard of Westview either. Other than the new school that just opened in Poway. But what do I know? And I could have sworn that Magnolia marched the parade once upon a time, but I don't see them on the list you have. I'm sure there are a FEW  people 'round here who can right that wrong, if it is indeed a wrong. :)

Question, isn't DCI sending another corps? Or is it only every two years?

And who do you guys think will be next? I'd have to guess a West Coast Div. 1 like Blue Devils or Cascades, maybe Troopers or Blue Knights.
