NCBA Champs DVD

Post by ghsguardmom » Mon Apr 18, 2005 9:32 am

Does anyone know how I can order the DVD they were selling at the show? I didn't get a chance to buy one and I'd really like a copy.

One of my students asked if she could order one through the mail and the people at the booth said no, that you had to order it that day. I am not sure if this is correct, but that's what I heard.

I was afraid that might be the case. Oh well, at least I did get video of our group and some of the Open guards.

If anyone hears otherwise about ordering the DVD let me know!

AARGH! I wanted a DVD too, but was too busy with my kids to stop and order one. C'mon Golden Valley boosters, what do you say? Think of all the extra sales!

i actually wasn't too excited on what the video people had to offer. i was standing next to the person recording during the last half of scholastic percussions and the guy didn't even move the camera. he would simply put the tape in and hit record and then stand back.
also i wasn't willing to shell out $45 for all the drumlines in open, then another $45 for all the open guards.

i think ccgc's video company has a better deal of all the independent guards for $20, etc. that's just my opinion.

Yeah, the vids this year were REALLY expensive. Say you wanted the recording of just YOUR group. How much do you think that would be?

$20.

Yup, twenty dollars for ONE performance.

Yeah, but what if your group didn't do CCGC and you didn't have anyone in your support group who could video? I wish I had something to show my kids, especially since they were so happy with their performance that day.

Suggestion to next year's host: maybe include a DVD of the individual performance with the scores. It would be nice to do it at no charge (ok, so I'm dreaming...) or for a nominal (ie reasonable) fee when we sign up for contests or the host sends out their info packets.

I don't know about everyone else, but I don't carry much cash to shows and am either too busy (before performance) or too exhausted (after performance) to really think about anything else.

i simply stated the ccgc "company" because i think it's a better deal and that maybe ncba should try using them.

but yea knowing the cost of a dvd beforehand would've helped out. and it being a LOT cheaper.

Hey guys. The only reason I knew there would be a DVD booth at Champs was because I got to check out some packets at Foothill the week before. They put a bunch of order forms in the packets. Any who... I was really suprised to not see them in the packet before champs. That would have been even smarter than just putting them in the Foothill packets, don't you think? :D

I just got my DVD today... and it's horrible! My guard is no where to be found on the DVD. The guard they have under our name looks like a middle school guard! Any one watching the intermediate guards, Ygnacio Valley High School did Pirates, not Rock around the Clock! Please do not mistake us! And the sound quality on the DVD, was very poor. I can't believe I spent $45 on this DVD. I am going to put in a request with NCBA at the June meeting to get a better videographer next year!

Any one else have a problem with it? The guards seemed to be in order with the exception of our guard.

Champs DVD

I have to agree with Jenkozy, I just got my DVD in the mail today and the quality for what I paid for it is terrible. The sound stinks, and you cand even see the faces of the performers clearly.

I will second the motion to get another company in to record Champs from now on, because the quality is not worth the money.

PS I'm sorry to hear that your guard wasn't on there. You should call them and let them know!

See you at the June meeting!
