Whoa people, lets step back a moment...
As of now, BHS will be putting out a winter guard for the first time, but they wont know what class until CCGC evals in January. Some experienced kids have expressed interest but they have to get started first. I am grateful that the director and coaches have decided to take them on, they deserve it!

GO BRUINS, MISS A. LOVES YOU!

I haven't heard that about Branham, but I know that Leigh High School has a new colorguard instructor that marched Emerald Marquis and instructed at another scholastic world guard on the east coast, and she is going to be instructing at Santa Clara Vanguard World.

You probably have the two schools mixed up.

STOP!

STOP THE MADNESS!!!!!!!

Let me clarify things...
Leigh High School and Branham High School are in the same district, and share the same feeder, Ida Price Middle School. (That would be me...) :wav:
Leigh has had an active music program for some time and last year, they put out a scholastic world guard after having co-sponsored Orion in Independent Open. They just hired the instructor from SCV who was with Emerald Marquis previously.

Branham High was newly reopened in 2001 and the music program is just starting to get beefed up. (Go Barnes!) Someone seems to think that just because Leigh is World class that BHS will be too. A nice sentiment but those kids have been guardless for 2 1/2 years while Leigh has had marching band and winter guard of a fairly high caliber. The BHS staff is from SJ Raiders World & Open guards and nothing has been decided on for winter other than that they will be in CCGC. I expect that they will end up in either A or AA. This is not a negative statement of any kind, but rather a realistic one given what I know about the resources they have.
I love my Branham and Leigh "babies" all the same  and I can't wait to see how this winter turns out. In the mean time, if any one has questions about this, you can PM me.
