From a Blue Knights alumni newsletter:
We are playing the music of Igor Stravinsky... specifically the legendary ballet "The Firebird". Keeping with our intention of playing music that is memorable, we plan on having a POWERFUL presentation of the Firebird with a unique twist... we will feature a sci-fi take on the music featuring otherworldly beings and their ultimate quest for community.
LOL wut. I mean, it sounds interesting and I'll be looking forward to seeing it, but... what?

A little bit of Cadets from December (literally). Do You Hear What I Hear? (perhaps listen with headphones)

Just saw this on the website for the Oregon Crusaders.
"Oregon Crusaders announces its 2012 show entitled, “Dreaming in Color”, with music by Eric Whitacre, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, and more."

Phantom Regiment 2012: "Turandot" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6S5juX9y0vsVery interesting. Quite a bit different from the Phantom sound we got used to hearing with J.D. Shaw at the helm. Kinda reminds me of Vanguard's "Ballet for Martha" 2009 show in terms of arranging style and the approach they took to the show.

PHANTOM REGIMENT - "Turandot" --"Popolo Di Pekino!" / "Indietro, Cani" --"Gira La Cote!" / "Perche Tarda La Luna?" --"O Mondo, O Mondo" / "O Tigre, O Tigre!" --"Gravi, Enormi Ed Imponenti" --"Gloria, Gloria" --"Tre Enigmi M'Hai" --"Nessun Dorma!"
Also, Phantom has a female center snare for the first time in corps history.

Blue Knights "Avian" run-through (6/9/12) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOYWJjw90isCheck out the brass at 5:50. Don't know how far up the ladder it will climb, but definitely pulling for BK this year. I like what I see and hear so far.
