Sooooo...this is it, isn't it. The final death knell of my favorite Div III corps, San Diego Alliance?

Sad. One of the most creative uses of field and music for such a small ensemble. And a very talented drum line and staff...

reading through their website, something caught my eye. ADLA (American Drum Line Association)... I didn't even know this circuit is still around. Before ADLA, they were Southern California Drum Line Circuit or something like that I think, but I had thought that SC-PA was the only game in town now...hmm....

Is Drums Across California still active?

You have the "Sparks (sunnyvale)" listed as a folded corps. Didn't they become what is now The Santa Clara Vanguard?

Not exactly. SCV spintered away from the Drum Sparks, which continued as a Drum and Bell/Baton group.

O.k., I stand corrected. THIS is a sad list.

I have had the great pleasure of being able to be a part of some these now defunct groups and I wish I had the wisdom to be able to establish a formula for success in the drum corps arena, particularly here in San Diego.

Don't worry though, when I win the lottery I'm bringing in the best and brightest for staff and not charging any corps fees. THE SOUTHWEST WILL RISE AGAIN! OR AT LEAST RISE... or at least furnish a sustainable DI corps....have a corps in san diego at any level?....shoot :flush:
