I am absolutely stupefied that Walled Lake Central H.S., MI and North Hardin H.S., KY did not make semifinals. This has been a crazy year in BOA.

My Semifinalist band predictions, Thursday prelims: 10/16 (62.5%)

Correct: Ben Davis, Carmel, Center Grove, Lafayette, Lake Central, Lawrence Central, Lincoln-Way East, Mason, Owasso.

Right band, wrong category: Adair County (I had Top 11, actual: sub-30 Class qualifier).

Complete whiffs: Top 11 - Walled Lake Central (actual: Western); 23rd-30th - Dublin Coffman, Lake Park, West Bloomfield (actual: Central Hardin, Jenison, Milford, Rockford); Sub-30 Class Qualifier - St. James (actual: Monrovia)

Correct: Avon, Beechwood, Blue Springs, Broken Arrow, C.T. Johnson, Marian Catholic, The Woodlands, Union.

Right band, wrong category: Bourbon County, Centerville, Norwin (I had Top 11, actual: 23rd-30th); Father Ryan, O'Fallon, Spring, Wando (I had 23rd-30th, actual: Top 11).

Complete whiffs: Top 11 - North Hardin (actual: Cary); Sub-30 Class Qualifier - Murphysboro (actual: La Salle)

Former BOA Grand National Champion Lake Park H.S. from Roselle, IL missed qualifying for Semifinals for the first time in AT LEAST 20 years, if not ever.

Former BOA Grand National Champion Centerville H.S. from Centerville, OH was outside the Top 22 prelims scores for the first time in AT LEAST 20 years, if not ever.

Lots of new blood pushing to the top in BOA. Lake Central and William Mason are probable for making their first GN Finals appearance ever this year.
