I am planning on moving to northern California in August 2012 and wanted to know where exactly coaching jobs may be. I will be attending college at the same time, and as of right now I will either be in Arcata, Fresno or Sacramento. I would like to start coaching for guards  thank you

Won't be a whole lot of opportunities up in Arcata. A reasonable amount in the Sacramento area, and a ton in the Fresno area.

I would add to Houstrauser's TON IN FRESNO....uh-hum...GET TO THE BAY AREA!! Just saying ... nothing against "Frez-yes." Just saying....GO TO THE BAY AREA!

Having grown up and gone to school in Eureka (about 6 miles from Arcata), there will be zero opportunities for you to coach there. There is one parade a year (in April), is not a competition, and no one has a color guard. The only color guard I knew of while living there was the NJROTC stuff. It was a big shock to my system when I moved here and found out color guard/winterguard were some of the things I was suppose to teach.
