Nov. 9th Contest in Vegas

Dear Colleague,

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you and your marching band to spend a weekend in “fabulous Las Vegas”! Sierra Vista High School’s “Sounds Across the Valley” marching band contest will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2013 and we’d love to have your group attend. This promises to be an outstanding event with some of the finest groups from the western United States and an outstanding national panel of adjudicators.
The event will be a prelims/finals format with the top band from each class guaranteed a spot in finals. All bands will be awarded a ratings plaque at the end of prelims and the first through third place group in each division will receive a placement award. Additionally, awards will be given for outstanding music, visual and effect within each class. Each finalist band will receive an award listing their placement and the top three finalists will receive trophies to commemorate their accomplishment.
This event is limited to the first 30 bands that respond. All entries received by June 1st will be eligible for the initial draw for performance times within class. After the June 1st draw performance placement will be based on the date the entrance form and entry fee is received (the earliest entry received will receive the last performance spot available within that groups division). With the level of groups expressing interest and the quality of the adjudication panel, we expect this show to fill quickly so please send us your application as soon as possible.
