Can you keep up?!?

Post by RifleLova » Sat Sep 10, 2005 2:05 pm

See I graduated High School this year (2005) and I could have continued with Color Guard but I didn't because I'm too engrossed in my education and my university is in Southern California but it's pretty far away from the color guard world and I just don't know if i'll be able to go to as many competitions as I'd like. I'm wondering if other college kids have had to go through this? Wanting to be a guard but not being able to and not even really being able to watch shows anymore. Does it just leave the system or will I regret this decision? I'm wondering if I should have just done color guard for my first year because I have gotten into a top 5 world guard but i'm also going to have to decline (I don't even know why I tried out). Anyone have their own stories or advice?!??!
Pearl Madison: I'm only human.
Leland: How come people only say that when they've done something wrong?

there are SOOOOOOO many independent guards EVRYWHERE in so cal and in ALL different classes. this will be my second year marching and independent guard and still going to a university full time. i know ppl in my guard and other independent guards that not only go to community college or even a university fulltime, but also have jobs and still find the time to teach colorguard and spin as well. if we have time to do guard, then if u love it a lot its worth it. theres sacrifices that need to be made like moeny and time, but its worth it, and it all pays off in the end!
