Radiers and Esperanza....
Is it true that the San Jose Raiders and possibly Esperanza de Luz are going to be sitting out this coming(2006) winterguard season?

Regretfully, the Esperanza Performing Arts Association will not produce Esperanza de Luz World Class winterguard in 2006. The choice to go inactive for 2006 was the result of many considerations. The development of the colorguard program throughout the organization in its entirety was central to this decision.
“Since we began The Esperanza Organization it has been our primary goal to establish a whole performing arts program which includes winterguard,” says Alan Cox, Executive Director of The Esperanza Organization. “In the fall of 1997, we founded Esperanza de Luz Winterguard as an integral part of The Esperanza Organization. Throughout its growth and development we never lost sight that part of the intention of Esperanza de Luz included growth and development with the other programs within The Esperanza Organization. We will revisit winterguard next year to see if it is a viable option for Esperanza,” Cox said.
Esperanza has served hundreds of young people with Esperanza de Luz Winterguards, Esperanza Drum and Bugle Corps, Esperanza Winter Percussion Ensemble and the San Diego Brass Ensemble. “The ultimate goals of the organization include winterguard so we will review the environment and activity again in the future to decide if it fits within the overall philosophy of the organziation,” says Alan Cox.
