The Southern California Regional will be held at Bakersfield City College

Having the Southern California Regional at Bakersfield College should simply become the California Regional.

Bakersfield College used to host a band competition which attracted bands from both Central & Southern experiences. One year had Clovis (#1 in California) and Carson (#1 in L.A.).

The stadium is currently converting from natural grass to artificial.

The 19 Oct contest will be at Mclane Stadium at Baylor University in Waco which seats 51,000. First time a contest has been held there. The major problem is that the 19th of Oct is the day most of the UIL Marching contests take place and the Region 8 UIL Marching contest will be held the same day in Hewitt a Suburb of Waco in a stadium seating 14,000. There are 26 Bands at the UIL Contest and so far 31 Bands signed up for BOA. These numbers will put a real stress on restaurants and other places for folks and fans to eat and shop at. All the Bands for BOA are coming from a distance. I forsee this location being very overcrowded.
