Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
In light of Dave's "Why so few new postings?" post and the love for W.P. Chambers' Boys of the Old Brigade, I though it would be fun to listen/watch this outstanding march played by some outstanding groups thru the years (in no particular order):
2019 Diamond Bar HS - https://youtu.be/gfXSQbLhCx0
*Phenomenal performance from top to bottom - representing some of the best that Southern California Marching Bands have to offer on the street.
2009 Golden Valley H.S. Cardinal Regime - https://youtu.be/5SvCYZ8bHcQ
* The word dynamic comes to mind - from that flawless guard routine to the band's rousing performance - listen to that crowd - they are loving every second of it!
2006 Rancho Bernardo HS - https://youtu.be/Rxu7HDI2K5I
*Look at the execution!! Crisp, clear and high level of musicianship. High school band? Yep, I sure do miss RB on the street!
2007 Hallsville High School - https://youtu.be/V0J9-CLAAbc?t=45
*Parade/Field Show but they sound and look amazing! Those horns are euphoric. Texas bands!
2005 Arcadia HS Apache Marching Band & Color Guard - https://youtu.be/xX0FFppdMys
*one of the comments on YouTube is "Dear heavens! Like a mighty conquering army from antiquity! Great!" and that pretty much sums up my thoughts! Arcadia's brass is thunderous.

I would love to see the aerial version of Diamond Bar’s so we can fully compare them to RB and Arcadia. I must say that Diamond Bar’s is the best of both Arcadia’s bombast and RB’s RAZOR precision. Golden Valley had me smiling from ear to ear and that GUARD!!!!!!!

Although my son was a Freshman trombone player in that Golden Valley band......I feel that the Rancho Bernardo performance at Arcadia FOB is the standard by which all Boys of the Old Brigade performances should be judged. Absolutely flawless!
