mmm... a perfectly executed performance of either in storm and sunshine or purple carnival, with really advanced, exciting, and clean guard work...(parade)

I cant wait till august for field season to start up again. My dream show is Boheimian Rhapsody, I think that it would be awsome if my band did that show. I think the cadets did it awhile back, it sounded great. Awsome bass parts. I cant wait :)

Dream Show

Post by vibelady2005 » Tue Jan 27, 2004 6:41 pm

I'm a total band nerd, and I want to be a band director. If I become that, I know the first show that I'm going to do. It's going to be called  Revenge of the Samurai. The songs included: [1] Samurai X Opener [2] Mortal Combat Theme, [3] Samurai Jack Opening theme [4] Rurouni Kenshin Closer (Heart of Sword). The colorguard will wear kimono tops with lai-jin pants, and they'll have chopsticks in their hands. I'll have them create sabre masks in the shape of katana swords, and daggers. The battery will have japanese lamps hanging rom their drums, and the props will be giant sakura trees. The band uniforms will be black shakos with red plumes, and a really cool uniform that's red, white, and black. The pit will have special board covers that have epic battle scenes and asian writing. One board will be philipines, one korea, one japan, one china, and one vietnamese.

Re: Latin Shows rock

jordanfrausto wrote:I like ur idea of creating consitency with the asian theme. You seem to have all the aspects planned out. Visual vise I would use circular formations to portray the smooth winding motions of the dragon because it is an animal often associated with asian culture

If I were planning my show it would have to be a latin show.Probably with Mambo from west side story just to add some excitement
I also feel that La fiesta could provide the traditional spanish guitar feature and mixing it with a powerful yet rich brass sound that is symbolic of the traditional spanish and latin conquistador

woah... is that really you jordan?

I want to be a director. (Unless I'm single, then I would want to be playing in a philharmonic) The field show I would want to do is THE FIREBIRD SUITE and one of the flags would have to be like a firebird or phoenix of some type.

And it would have most of the music from Stranvinsky's Firebird suite. Well not all 22 minutes of it but mainly the faster parts.

Hey there, my winter drumline is doing themes from the Jetsons, Mortal Kombat and The Flinstones. And if I recall, I believe a school did Batman and superman themes in 2002. I can't think of what school it was but they competed in SCSBOA if somebody could fill me in.
