Yes regionals are for WGI. As for WGI world championships, yes they are in SAn Diego. And as far as "only being a scholastic high school guard" that is what makes up most of the WGI event.

WGI is broken up into 6 different classes:
Scholastic A- Beginning high school programs and performers.
Independent A- Beginning programs and performers.
Scholastic Open- The intermediate developmental level of performers.
Independent Open-The intermediate developmental level of performers.
Scholastic World- The most advanced programs and performers.
Independent World-World Class - The most advanced programs and performers.

Basically anyone who goes to a regional can go to WGI. They will fit into one of the categories.

I really love both fall and winter but I don't know if my guard is ready for winter. We're going to WGI after not doing it in like 5 years and we have a few girls on the team that no matter how long they've known the fall routines, they still can't remember them. Actually we're starting our show on Wednesday and we have music but everyone will have to wait until Jan. 31 @ Valencia HS to see our show. It's very different. And our instructor doesn't pick our music, the captains do so we've known what our theme has been since early August.

im determined to have my horizontal toss turn around with a the 1 1/2 spin in the show....i love it! lol. The mini flag feature is awesome, the toss turn around is gonna be great, as long as the freshmen work on it.

Last year I was a contrasted freshman. I was on top in my dance skills (still weak) but I sucked at flag. So I was put into the dance group during the show, I was the only freshman rather than two other flag sophomores, my instructor gave me a chance which I was really grateful for. But I was given drill to sit in the back on a chair or behind a table alot, for good chunks of the song. So it was an up and down situation. I hope I can do dance again this winter and hopefully my instructor will put in a rifle segment

I love toss turn arounds!! For some reason they just kind of come naturally to me, if I drop it it's not that I turned, it was a bad toss. They make me happy :)
