Hi everyone,
My first post here and perhaps an unusual one.
I am from Malta, Europe. A tiny island in the meditterranean sea.
We dont do color guard here, but our island is rich in history especially medieval and renaissance, so there are a number of re-enactment and pageantry groups for this period.
I form part of one and we do shows for fun and visitors to historic sights.
As you might know, there are a number of european flag "tossing and waving" schools, usually italian and german/swiss. All are done as background to the same periods.
A while ago I had the idea of introducing a germanic element to our otherwise "italophile" parade. A Landsknecht contingent were here, for a time, so its all historically correct :-)
I had the idea of NOt taking up the italian school, but chose color guard as basis.
In keeping with the same period spirit, we dont wish to use aluminium poles, so we are trying out ash wood, 7/8", 6' tall.
We dont have any experience of american color guard at all here, so I wonder if anyone can help with this question is: Are wood poles usually weigthed ?

Thank you all for reading, I hope you were not too bored with my loooong first post !
