Post by mr. music » Sat Aug 16, 2014 12:51 pm

kinda seems like this page, and forum, has died down a bit. But in case anyone is interested, I was able to go through and as best I can, calculate the scores from last fall season to arrive at this years pre-season rankings for the top groups that perform street percussion....

1st: Merced (89.02)
2nd: Fairfield (88.80)
3rd: Rodriguez (88.77)
4th: Vanden (88.27)
5th: Golden Valley (88.05)
6th: Franklin (87.05)
7th: Irvington (84.25)
8th: Atwater (83.10)

eeeeeeeh. kinda agree with this list and kinda dont. Most of these groups have proven over time that they deserve to be called some of the top drumlines in NCBA. a few others just won maybe once against a top tier group....doesnt really make them a continuous top line.

Jesse Bethel and Benicia no longer do street percussion in NCBA. Jesse Bethel has, on occasion over the last two years, sporadically competed, but Benicia has stopped doing street percussion for some time now. If you look closely at the list, Rodriguez is ranked #2, and Vallejo only competed at a couple of shows this past year, not garnering a spot in the top.

calculation was done by focusing on the groups that continuously placed in at least the top 4 spots at various competitions, then taking the top 4 scores from said groups over the season and averaging them out, giving me the final number.
