ADLA Judges Training Sessions

Post by Teever » Mon Jan 26, 2004 11:04 pm

The American Drum Line Association will be holding judges training sessions on Sunday, February 8, and Saturday, February 21. These sessions are open to current ADLA adjudicator, those interested in becoming an adjudicator, and instructors who wish to gain insight on how groups are evaluated.

The first session (Feb 8) will be held at Lexington Jr. High School in Cypress, from 1 - 5 pm. This session will focus on judging philosophy, knowledge of the sheets and terminology, and evaluation techniques. Lexington Jr. High is located at 4351 Orange Ave in Cypress - south of the 91 frwy, east of the 605 frwy, north of the 405 frwy, and west of Valley View. We are meeting in room 102, off the main parking lot. Lunch will be provided (be on time or it'll be gone!).

The second session is a "hands on" session; we will be evaluating live performing groups at the first show in La Quinta, with a discussion session following. The schedule will be approximately 9am - noon - more details will be posted when the show schedule has been set. This is the best way for ANY adjudicator to hone their skills, and it is the most effective method for establishing consistency in evaluation.

There will be an additional financial incentive to ADLA adjudicators (present and future) for attending these sessions.

We hope you'll join us! Email or call Steve Graves at MrGTeachr@aol.com, or (714)503-1856 (Lexington Music office) for additional information and to confirm your attendance.
