Post by danrcook » Tue Jan 15, 2013 9:06 am

Yamaha and Nick Rail Music have teamed up to bring an event for trumpet players to try out the full line of horns with the help of some special guests.

What: A Day to explore the full line of Yamaha Trumpets, Cornets and Flugelhorns and take home one at special pricing. Having trouble picking one, let a Pro player, expert or one of the Designers help you out.

Who? Along with several Nick Rail Music employees, Yamaha representatives will be on hand. Jonathon Breen, Roger Eaton, Bob Malone, Brian Petterson, Jon Goldman, Scott Yousey, and Doug Steinmetz.

Artists on hand to help you make a selection will be:

Tom Hooten will be on site from 10:00 am until noon.
Tom is the new Principal Trumpet with the LA Phil. Prior to joining them in 2012 he was Principal of the Atlanta Symphony; before that a member and frequently featured soloist with “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band.

Wayne Bergeron will be on site from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.
A world class jazz trumpeter, Wayne made his first splash in the pool in 1986 when he landed the lead trumpet position with Maynard Ferguson and he’s been making history ever since. Most notably, Wayne plays lead in Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band. Wayne co-designed the YTR-8335LA.

Jens Lindemann will be on site from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
A former member of the Canadian Brass and current Professor of Trumpet at UCLA, Jens reigns supreme as a “most sought” soloist in the US and abroad.
